I am new to the site and eb's so any help is greatly appreciated.

I have been looking at body lifts and seem to keep coming across body mount kits with hardware and body lift kits with hardware. Am I correct in that I will only need the body lift kit?

Also the previous owner felt the need to rig up his own rear shock mounts by welding bolts to the frame. Needles to say this will be replaced. My question is there any real benifit to using an inboard shock hoop in the rear or sticking to mounting the shocks on th outside of the frame.

I will only be doing lite trails and some mud now and then looking for the best street ride. I plan on a 3 1/2" suspension and 2" body lift

Thanks for any input

Welcome scout..!!

"Am I correct in that I will only need the body lift kit?"

---YES---

But., keep in mind body lifts tend to req. steering geometery adjustments=$$

"is there any real benifit to using an inboard shock hoop in the rear"

---NO---

Outside the frame is best.

BTW., for your usage., 1 good shock on ea. corner is all you'll need.
