I have a 1970 Bronco Sport.

I just finished removing all of the old body bushing bolts, but at this point i cant get the actual bushings out.

The tub is still on the frame due to the fact that i cant figure out how to pull it off. ( does it seperate at the firewall or does the entire body of the truck lift off ? )

Anyone have any insight ? There seems to be some other type of bolts underneath the bushings, but due to lack of space im having a very hard time.

Thanks in advance

Each bushing was a little different for me. After you remove the bolts on one side, use a long block of wood (4x4) under the door jam, and a jack to raise the body. Leave the bolts in the other side loose, so the bushings can flex, but the body won't slide off the mounts. Once one side is lifted, you create a space between the body and the mounts to remove the top half.

The problem is that the original body mounts were pressed on at the factory.

Inside the mount, there is a sleeve (female) that is pressed onto another sleeve from the bottom (male). For some of the mounts, the bolt is actually threaded into the bottom sleeve. On those, I loosened the bolt so that it was raised from the body, but still threaded into the bottom mount. Then, with the body resting on the mounts, I took a hammer and hammered it out. Once the bottom mount is loose, you can complete its removal from the bolt, then raise the body to remove the top portion. On some mounts, such as those in the front, you'll have to remove the bolt, then take a punch (I used a piece of rebar) and hammer the mount out from the top. I also found a pneumatic chisel to be useful on the mounts under the floor pans. Very useful
