My transfer case went when I was coming home from 4x4ing, it acts like its in neutral in 2h and 4h, it can sometime catch in 4l but grinds while going into it.

The truck is snowed in where I had to leave it, I would like to pick up some parts from the wrecker but I don't know exactly what I need.

It is an 89 full size 302engine auto tranny w/ OD auto locking hubs

Not sure if this would effect anything but a couple weeks ago I had to put new rotors and auto hubs on the front drivers side, could this has caused my tcase failure? Also there is a 6 inch lift

There is no way of knowing what parts you would need. Sorry to say you will just have to get it back to a shop.

FYI..I never think it is advisable to replace parts on only one side of a vehicle. Though I cannot say that caused a problem.

Hope the results aren't too bad.

Good Luck

Hi Livewire., welcome...!

What Ron said plus..,

Not familiar with that yr. but doesn't it have elect. shift T-case...?

Best case scenario would be a shifting/shifter issue... :D/

Worst case.., internal problem.

I have an NP-205 transfer case that has been rebuilt about 8k miles ago. It is off off an '85 Bronco. 351w w/c6. I put the motor in my nustang but still have the C6 and transfer case.

yo,

Take a few minutes to read through this Four Wheel Drive (4X4) General Information, Operation & Troubleshooting TSB 92-1-8 for Bronco, F Series & Ranger (COMPLETE);

Includes Electric Shift On The Fly (ESOF) Troubleshooting & Hub Operation; same for 87-96; exc for that in 87; power from Fuse 6 (15 amp) to "ELECT SHIFT CONTROL MOD" WHT-PPL and CB 12 (30amp) to "ELECT SHIFT CONTROL MOD" BLK-WHT; SEE A7 and A8 in the 4x4 diagram, it shows those two wires BLK-WHT as BK/W from SHIFT MODULE to P1 BATTY and and WHT-PPL as W/P to P2

BW 1356 Electronic Shift-On-the-Fly (ESOF) by Steve

not that Bronco rear driveshaft is of the double Cardan type which incorporates two universal joints, a driveshaft centering socket yoke (4782), and a driveshaft center yoke (4784) at the transfer case end of each shaft. A single universal joint is used at the axle end of the driveshaft.
