Is that the only time it does it? Have you checked the trans/motor mounts to be sure they are tight?

I agree with Joe that the problem could well be a broken motor mount, or the tranny mount. If that checks out, your rear driveshaft may be "out of phase". JSM84

what do u mean "out of phase" worn out? bent? it is actually a welded drive shaft to be honest i totally forgot about that, but i dnt understand how that could be associated to my problem?

did you check all the compontents in the front of your Double cardan joint? there are alot of bearings and pivot points that if not maintained are prone to failure. sounds like the same noise my bronco made when my rear yoke was loose.

I had a cracked tranny cradle in the bronco as well, from teaching my fiance how to drive standard. it would cause the truck to vibrate and shake/jump when first taking off, you wouldn't notice it at higher speeds.

There are 2 engine mounts, and 1 trans mount,,Besides that,,,that welded shaft could be all you problem,With out it being able to extend and contract as the suspension moves up and down,Your smashing into the back of the transfer case and pinion yoke. That IS going to destroy your transfer case,Rear Diff parts along with the engine and trans mounts. You should get a good shaft before you waste your time throwing parts into it that it may not need.

if you blow your rear end, drive shaft, and transfercase then the parts and labour needed to fix it is worth buying a different bronco.

fix it now before you completley ***** it up if you haven't already. and its not the mounts like I was explaining, broken mounts give you problems at take off, not cruising or accelerating on the highway.

here i guess ill explain this better, theres a small clunking when i put it into gear, but when say iam driving 50 mph on flat gound, then take my foot off and on it feels like a broken mount, but then again say i gun it then let off when it down shifts into a lower gear theres sometimes a large clunk...but only sumtimes..i will check the mounts out latter on i just rlly cannot afford to put any more money in this truck untill i get to florida, i rlly need to just cross my fingers and hold my breath?

last time, its not the mounts. its either A. Broken splines on t-case yoke. B. Bad ujoints in DC joint or bad DC joint bearings, C. bad u joint at rear end, D. Broken splines in rear end yoke, or E. Pinion gear is loose in rear end.

if it was your tcase mount it wouldn't clunk going into gear, when you accelerated in gear, it would feel like the bronco is trying to jump off the ground,

if it was a motor mount every time you revved your engine it would literally turn in your engine bay in gear or not. a little movement is normal because the motor sits on rubber to keep the vibrations from transferring into the vehicle.

Hey I never said it would be engine OR trans mounts,Everyone else keeps up with that.I think its related to your driveshaft,Going by what Krafty has listed It has to be in there somewhere..As for checking it,Put your parking brake on ,,if it works,, and put the truck in neutral to take the load off the driveshaft.Twist the driveshaft back and forth and look for anything wrong,Like Krafty said u-joints,DC joint or pinion bearing.Maybe it will be an easy find. :)>-

when they took the driveshaft out to work on all this stuff did they mark it and put it back the same way? I've heard of guys putting the shaft in off by a 1/4 turn and getting a **** of a vibration, but I think that would be more constant then just at higher speeds, but it's a thought.

We cant tell you that...Put it this way,How long have you been driving it this way so far?If it just started it could be something to go on your way there,,,On the other hand if its been doing it a while and hasnt changed,it could be just like that the whole way there,,,Obviously we dont have the vehicle in front of us to confirm or not how its longivity is...
