I have a 1995 bronco and i need to change the ball joints on both sides. i heard you have to completely tear down the front axle, is that true?

You leave the front diff intact, but you do have to pull the hubs, and slide the axels out.

I never pulled my axles out, but the whole knuckle does have to come off. Its really not that bad, just take the hubs and rotor off, and its pretty straight foward. Good excuse to repack the front bearings with grease.
