I think I messed up my motor in the 84 Bronco today.
(
It hasn't rained here in 7 weeks, and I took the Shaker assembly off to get the rig inspected. Just using an open K&N element air filter for now. Well, it rained several inches yesterday and today, and in a rush to move the Bronco indoors I think some water got into the motor. It sounds like a bent valve, but may be a burnt piston or bearing knocking. No sign of water in the oil, and I'm going to pull the plugs tomorrow to check them out. Cross the fingers that it's just some carbon on top of one of the cylinders, since my Chevy does the same thing now and then.
I am working on picking up a 500+HP 351Cleveand, but would need to beef up the rest of the drivetrain before running that motor. [-o<
