I have an automatic...when shifting into gear the needle doesnt move from the park position. I know its a cable that I gotta replace or reconnect. How do I access this? Where can I buy a new one? Any help is appreciated.

Also when I bought my 1987 the stereo wires had been cut so I need a new radio harness. Where can i get one? Or is it easier to just have the car stereo place run a new one for me since I am buyign a new cd player?

Thanks

Mike

The shift indicator needle is operated by a small nylon string attached to the shift column. If the string is still there, then it is attached on the left side to a adjustable bracket witha small stud on it. You need to carefully remove the decorative shroud on the steering column and then you can get at it. However, if it is broken, you will need to get a new instrument cluster. If you need a new one, try your local friendly junk yards.

As far as the radio harness, if you are upgrading your system, you probably want to upgrade the speaker wires any way. The only thing then is hooking up power and you can splice that in.

Good luck,

:)>-
