I have a 91 Bronco with the 302 and a A4OD trans with a BW1356 t/c. I want to swap my auto out for a 5 speed. Has anyone done this before and what trans and t/c could I use? Can I use the clutch components from a p/up truck? Any infor from anyone would be a great help.

You can use your T case it will mate to a manula too and yes ALL F150,F250 cab parts will fit in a bronco . Your best bet would be to find a beater stick truck so you had all the clutch pedal components and peices you needed to do the swap . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

i was raised in a house of car nuts, so i'm going to go with my old man's advice

do a little homework and find a transmission that suits your requirements (off-road low 1st, race trans fast gears) and then look for clutch pedal assemblys from the year and model you have. once you find one, it's a simple task of finding a flywheel to replace your flexplate, get clutch assembly that matches both bell housing and motor mounting surface, then cut and weld where needed to make the new transmission fit just right. just make sure your t-case mates up with the correct amount of splines, as well as the input shaft on the t-mission :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Most any of the trannies from the mid to late 90,s are 5 speeds so any of them will work . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> When you pull up your floor matt you will find one of two things the tranny **** in middle of the cab will either be indented in the sheet metal where you will have to cut to remove the floor section for the new cover that has the hole for the shifter . There are even indents where the ***** holes have to be drilled . Or there will already be a cover there and you will have to cut a hole in it for the shifter or find a cover that already has the hole in it I would go that option so everything was like it would be if it was factory . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

all ford t cases were the same bolt pattern and spline count, if this is for a toy look for a 4x4 f150/bronco with the 300-i6 and the np435, the bellhousing will bolt to the 302 and there are (supposedly) kits to upgrade to the hydraulic clutch if you want to, but the old mechanical ones feel better to me anyway. these trucks also came with the np205 transfer case. i bought a complete truck with this setup for $150 once just look around in feilds and backyards and ask about em....mine came from a mesquite feild next to a body shop. if you get a 78/79 the axles would also make a good upgrade for your truck.

I appreciate all the advice but I guess what I will have to do is start going to junk yards and figure out what fits and go from there. Thanks again everyone.
