Auto locking 3 ***** hubs problem

Does anyone know how to remove the lock ring on auto locking hubs i got the cap off but i cant seem to remove the lock ring?

I usually clean it out real good so I can see what I'm doing, then use a couple of picks or small screwdrivers. Once you get one end of it out of the lock-groove, you can just work the rest of it out. Takes a lil patience.
