I want to replace my coil springs. Spicer has replacement springs, moog has them also, they are around the same price...I am trying to gain the most amount of lift due to a heavy grill guard squatting the front, not to mention 13 year old springs. The moog says for not with quad (which I have) Is there a difference in coil springs between the quad, and regular setup? If anyone has experience using these, give me some feed back please!

The quad springs are heavier duty and came with the snow plow and trailer towing package. You might want to talk to somone at Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. I believe that a set of 3" lift springs may do the trick but the boys at Jeff's can lead you to the right pair. You probably have added about the same weight that a 460 conversion would have, so the suspension will probably have to be beefed up in a similar fashion.

Good luck,

:)>-

I am gonna go with the spicer ones, already started PB Blastin those dreaded 1 n 1/8th spring bolts

Take that back, gonna take one old spring off and drive to two different parts stores, see if the spicer, or moog is taller, and see if they have specs on them, then decide from there!

Just finished replacing one side with the spicer springs(not much difference, maybe a 1/2" of gain), gabrielle mono max shocks, took about 4 hours, had rusty bolt trouble etc. etc. I am whipped I tell ya, it was 94 today and humid. Will try to get on the other side early in the A.M.

P.S. I knew I should have replaced that radius arm bushing while I had everything off!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason I pointed you to Jeff's before was that you have added significant weight to the front and just replacing the springs with stock replacements will not buy you much. You need to beef up the suspension because of that weight gain. Probably what you will need to get is the lift springs that are used with a 3" lift kit.

Good luck,

Too late now that you started but Rough Country makes 1.5 inch lift coils and they just barely make it sit above a level stance, with the weight you added to the frontend they would probably sit just above stock mine were 150 bucks and are great I love 'em

well my bronco sits low in the front too, the top three coils are touching, there is no gap. well since the 4" coils are cheaper than the 1.5-2 ( ) would there be a big difference in ride height. would it sag in the rear?
