I am taking off non esential parts from my 1984's 351W engine. I want to remove the A/C compressor for now but if I remove the bracket it bolts to the Alternator will be out of alignment when I put it back on.

So the question is do I need to make a spacer or is there a bracket I need to be looking for somewhere out there?

Thanks guys/gals!

yes there is "idler" pulley that bolts directly to where the compressor sits without removing the ac mounting bracket this way when you want to return the compressor all you need to do is remove the belt(uses the same belt) and unbolt the pulley setup remove then replace the compressor and recharge the a/c and its like you never did anything
