Hi everyone.

I have been looking for a "new" Bronco and I looked at a '73 yesterday. There was a big gap at the top of the door when it was closed. Maybe half an inch? The doors didn't seem bent and the truck looked really straight with original paint, so can the doors be adjusted to fit tight, and how difficult is it to do? Also, is there anything special I should be looking for when looking at these Broncos? I don't want to get one and find out it is screwed up and will cost a fortune to fix.

Thanks for any help. It is really appreciated.

Hi Brad..,

There's nothing magical here about these "old-school" -- "Iron" trucks. They're just like all trucks (& cars) built "back in the day."

I call them the "American Volkswagon" in that there's nothing you can't remove, fix, & replace.

As to the door setting.., there's a bit of adj. at the hinges IF you can get the big screws loose. 1/2 inch doesn't sound like a lot.., what did the other side look like..?

I would look there & make sure something didn't break at the hinge-mount & get welded, or some such thing. (the latch should hit & align smoothly)

Even then., it's all replaceable.

Other things to consider would be; crud in the tanks obstructing fuel flow, loose wiring or prev. owner wiring add-ons, weak ignition, wheel bearings, functioning 4x4/drive train, brakes, exhaust, strong/weak engine..., basically all the things you would consider with any used vehicle.

Good luck.., & have fun..!! >:D< <'>
