Just bought my first Ford ever, so try to cut me a little slack if I seem like a complete noob. I have a '96 Bronco & the rear window doesn't work with the key or the switch. In fact it appears that someone removed the fuse (I replaced it & tried again to no avail) for the switch. The lock on the back also doesn't even fit the OEM key. Since I'm new to Broncos, I don't even know where to start.....maybe the Dealer??

Thanks in advance!

my 95 did the same thing....the drivers side latch in the tail gate has a microswitch in it. take off the carpet and then the metal cover (bunch of phillips screws) hopefully the window is up. then look inside with a flash light. u'll see the latch with an electrical plug in it simply unplug it and bridge the contacts with a wire on the car side of the harness. i made up a bridge with a couple of red blade connectors and a 3 inch wire. then test the window..... should be ok then. replace the latch if u want, mine has been fine for a year now.

goodluck :)>-

"The lock on the back also doesn't even fit the OEM key"

the truck should of come with two keys a square one with a plastic handle.and a round one that only does the back window. u should be able to order the round one from a ford dealer if u don't have it or maybe a local lock smith can make one for u useing the truck's lock.
