Hello!

I just aquired a 95 Bronco with 351w. The previous owner told me it had overheated, made some noise and never ran since, thats about all the info I got. When I got it home I tried to start it and it wouldn't even backfire. I'm assuming its the heads and/or gaskets. I haven't did a compression test yet but it sounds like it has no compression when turning over. Anyway, is it easier just to pull the engine to remove the heads? I'm not sure what else this motor might need, ODO reads 225,000 don't know the history of the motor. PVO also said she might have heard it knock when over heated, didn't see any metal grit in oil, but it has had a year to settle. Thanks for any input!

Sounds it may have more than a overheating problem.I would pull and look through the hole motor. So if it does need rebulding its already out.It is much easy to pull the heads and clean the block with it out.I have pulled heads with in teh truck. But its easier with the motor out.

I would just pull it and rebuld/buy new. Clearly you bought the truck knowing it doesn't run. With that many miles, best to just do it right the first time, and let it last another 15yrs with minor repairs.

id say that rednck is right pull it and check it out inside and out so you can find the major problems and repair but a 351 is one damn good motor... I put 351s in all of my demo cars and ive never had a problem, they are pretty invinsible motors so do what you can to fix it and you wont be let down
