Hello all,

I have a '94 Bronco 5.8L and need some help. From idle (smooth 750rpm) to 40 mph, it is running great. The problem seems to come at freeway speed 60-70mph and 2000-2500 rpm. The engine bogs down and starts to mis-fire. I have been trying to pinpoint the problem, and have replaced: Spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor, EGR valve and sensor. I have recently changed the oil (and filter), and replaced the air filter. Also my timing is dead on 10 deg. BTDC (this is the spec on the sticker under the hood). I have also been trying to replace the fuel filter without any luck. It has a duckbill snap-on connection. I have the tool, but can't seem to figure out how to use it to pop the stupiud thing off (Mechanic bud told me to remove the gas cap when replacing filter, so I did).

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Thanks!!

Buy the tool anywhere such as: Spring Lock Coupling Tools, Air Conditioning & EFI Fuel Lines, Ford, (for late models) by KD Tools http://www.kd-tools.com/3290.htm

Thanks for the link, Miesk5! I'll give that a try.

Through the process of changing out all of those parts, I was getting a check engine light every once in awhile. Now, it is idling smooth, and bogging down occasionally with no check engine light.

Anything else I should check/replace??

Thanks!! D

I tried to replace the fuel filter on my 93 and eventually got fed up with it. I ended up just taking it to a Ford dealer and payed them $20 to change it for me.
