hi everyone,

i've been looking a a 93 bronco xlt. 137,000 miles, automatic, manual hubs. it needs at least shocks, tires and an alignment

i took it for a test drive and it was going good, all of a sudden it started shuddering in the rear. it did it for maybe 5-10 seconds and stopped. then a bit later, it did it again.

what could the problem be?

thanks

Crawl under the truck and see if you have any play in the rear drive shaft. Also, how long since you have greased the universal joints and the slip joint.

Good luck,

:)>-

i have a similar issue with my truck. It could be a leaky wheel cylinder caused the shoes to swell, after driving they heat up and start to stick to a warped hub. this shutter is amplified by slack in the drive line caused by worn ujoints, backlash or a number of things.
