my 93 bronco has a funny problem. first, it's only happened twice in a year and my wife was driving so i didn't hear it and she's a city girl and can't explain nothing. someone else heard it this time and said it sounded like it was missing and popping. it would start and go but would start bogging down. my wife said it got hot of course she runs the air full bore. i went and picked it up later and drove home with no problem. need help.

As a thought, check your spark plugs & wires. One or two of ether may be loose or cracked, maybe slight but enough to act funny when hot.

I would say you should drive it the same way she is or ride with her, maybe it will act up with you in the truck so you can get a better idea.

tha cat was fine. the guys at the muffler shop said it was in my fuel, filter or pump. i had already replaced the filter so the pump was next. so far so good. this pump only took about 3 hours to replace. the first time i did it in my 95 it took me all day. practice makes perfect. i would suggest to anyone with this problem to take off the insert hitch if you have one beforehand. the tank was a very tight fit in between.

Check your #7 and #8 spark plug wires. They should not be crossed.......this is a "known" problem that causes a intermittent mis-fire
