Ive attached a video of my problem because it is an odd one to explain due to inexperience. But, whether the truck is running or not, the relay that kicks on for the stereo and etc works fine. If i shift the steering wheel, I lose the accessories and the rear antilock light kicks on. I can rotate the key right before it activates the starter and make it work again but its supposed to work without that. I checked the codes and there are none, everything else runs fine. I'm thinking its something simple but I have no clue where to look. I appreciate any help to solve this annoying little dilemma IMG_4811.MOV

yo Kyle,

Is the key lock cylinder loose?

Key Moves Freely & Won't Engage the Starter; "...The part that broke is called the rack actuator. I have enclosed a picture of it for your reference.

To replace it, the upper portion of the column needs to be disassembled. If you are comfortable doing that, you will need to remove the following parts to gain access..."

EXCERPTS:

Note that this is a safety recall, and any included vehicle will be repaired free, no matter how old it is, how long the owner waits to present it for repair, or how many times it has been sold.

On a small number of the affected vehicles, a short circuit could develop in the ignition switch that could lead to overheating, smoke, and possibly fire in the steering column area of your vehicle. The condition may occur while the vehicle is in use or unattended.

At no charge to you, your Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer will replace the ignition switch with a revised design switch. Dealers currently have instructions and parts ordering information.

The dealer will also check the wiring in the upper steering column area and will inspect for the installation of any aftermarket electrical accessories. If an improper installation is noted that is not part of this recall, you will be advised to have it corrected.

Hi.  I'm in the process of replacing my actuator and found a tooth is missing from the 1991 bronco steering column tilt lock lever.  This explains why it won't set where I like it.  Does anyone know where to find one while I have the column apart?

Thanks,

Chris

Also, it's better to post a Question in a new thread so that dummies like me don't confuse your Year, or engine or issue with original poster.

soon in your profile, include your year, Model (XLT, etc.) engine size; transmission, transfer case, locking hub types and any major mods such as body or suspension lift.

Left Click your name in upper right corner; in pop-up left Click on My Profile

Below an Ad, in right side. Left Click Edit my Profile

In Left Side, Left Click Change Signature

or post info in trhead and I'll add info for you.

Have to Roll; others can help you, I am sure!

Thanks Supreme Commander.  None of those sites came up in my searches.  I suspect I will find it now.
