So lights come on when you rock or shake the truck by hand with motor off? Sounds like a loose ignition wire but I'm not sure. Which light is turning on? Is the head light switch turned on or could this be an interior light where a door might be causing it to turn on?

Rough running or if the rig turns off when you turn on head lights would be a loose cable, bad connection or too small gauge of wire. Does the rig still crank over or is it dead now? Start from the key and see if there is power. Then follow the wire from there to the coil etc.

Sounds like the battery is dead. The light might be pulling some excess current or grounding out draining the battery. Try and charge the battery or reploace it with another from a vehicle with no problems. The battery will turn on your head light and everyting else and seem fine but will not hold the amperage when the key is turned. This is why I went with a gell cell like Optima. The plates in a standard battery can break going down a gravel road.

well the battery is only 3 weeks old the light staying on isnt a problem.

the battery did sit for a week and a half and when i first got the battery the alternater(i replaced the alternater) was bad so i had to keep rechaging it i will see if this fixes my problem but not sure if it will

make sure the grounds are ok. their should be one going to the body of the truck and one going to the engine as well. make sure the connections are good. make sure when u changed the starter solinod that the wires went back to the same places. as well as the starter.
