Getting close to getting the motor fired up, figured I would give it a shot here - where it seems so many have running swaps.

Having 2 remaining issues:

Truck is an 86' Ranger (came Fuel injected, with Manual trans)

Motor is 88 Mustang 5.0 EFI ** (mustang EFI ** computer A9L, T5 trans)

1. Red/Blue wire that goes to the Starter Solenoid (tiny post)

Fixed: Round 4 PIN harness coming out of driver side ranger firewall contained the Red/Blue wire coming from the Clutch Pedal Switch. I was right in the first place to connect this wire to the Red/Blue wire in the Ranger 8 PIN harness, but during continuity tests, the clutch pedal switch was bad and screwing up tracing the wires.

Whats troubling me is the Red/Blue wire that goes to the Starter Solenoid which gives signal to crank the starter.

I've traced this wire from the starter solenoid (tiny post), to the driver side 8PIN ranger Harness. I have already spliced

already spliced a few wires from my 5.0 harness This 8 PIN ranger harness (water temp, oil, 12v run, etc) which all matched

up in the diagrams, guides, etc.

My thinking led me to believe the clutch pedal switch (when clutch depressed) allows 12v to pass thru to it,

then this 12v continues on to the Red/Blue starter solenoid signal post..

but since I found it in the 8 Pin ranger harness, im trying to trace where /how it got its signal.. Any help would

be appreciated. I've done a few swap wiring projects in the past - so Ill do my best to interpret via forums everyones

wiring info.

Second issue is Fuel Pump (+) wire Pink/Black coming out of the Inertia switch.

Where does it connect? I have everything wired fine up until the Pink/Black wire coming out of the intertia switch. From there im lost...

I see 2 Pink/Black wires on the frame rail (in its own single pin harness) then I see a 1 single Pink/Black wire in the 8 PIN ranger harness as well.

Which one shall i connect to?

So anxious to get this motor started...put in about 60 hours so far. But i wont give up! lol

I can post pics of my driver side wiring setup if need.

The red wit blue stripe wire comes from the ignition switch to the clutch switch and then to the start solenoid. The attached diagrams should help you. They are from an 85 but the circuit didn't change. Hope they help. You can usually find a EVTM (Electric and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual). You should be able to find one for your year truck.

Good luck,

:)>-

Fuel wiring fixed: Found the damn missing connector which made sense of everything.

Intertia Pink/Black Splits > Splits, one to the Ranger 8 PIN Pink / Black, the other to the Pair of bonded Pink /Black wires down on driver rail.

over thinking it at its best. All connected, not to figure out why pumps arent starteing... probably busted them giving them 12volts directly in my testing.

Damn im rusty lol. Least I know this whole trucks wiring front to back now. **** mail me your harness i can build it for you.. lol
