Welcome to the Zone > . The first thing I would do is check the condition of all the connections from the battery to the starter including the condition of the cables. Included in those checks is the battery to engine block cable and connections. The connection at the engine block tends to corrode as do the other connections that are exposed to moisture. Another ground connection is the fender ground and the start solenoid connection to the fender, it grounds through the contact to the fender.

Good luck,

:)>-

If it a automatic transmission. PUT-A GOOD COPPER GROUND----FROM THE STARTER TO THE FRAME. Also, check your solenoid(on the passenger side of the fender) folow the hot cable on your batter and it will lead to the solenoid. Also check all your connections and grounds(take them off and clean them) and check the FUSEABLE LINKS--the ignition swict. WRITE A LIST DOWN --ITS EASY TO MISS SOMETHING-AND AS YOU CHECK EACH ONE-CHECK IT OFF-GOOD LUCK

Sounds to me like a bad alternator. The clicking noise would be from the starter solenoid. If there is not enough power to run the starter motor, the solenoid will just click. If the battery keeps going dead, even after constant manual charging, its because its not being charged while your driving, which is the job of the alternator.
