do i need to pull the axles out on a 78 bronco to take the third member out. need to replace the seal but i dont know if i need to pull the axles to do this. thanks for any help.

yes axles have to be removed to take out third member

if your just pulling the 3rd member and not doing anything at the drums, you can just pull the axles out far enough to get them out of the carrier
