I used my slide hammer with the 3 fingers on the end, tightened the slop up and slamed it out. Took several very hard whacks to come out. I wouldn't think the grease trick would work here. Also most clutches come with 2 styles. One is a round piece of metal tube and the other is the actual pilot bearing. Use the real pilot bearing as it doesn't wear out. I've pulled many clutches and the ones with the round tube are always ovaled out or worn and not doing anything but scrape up the pilot tip.
