how do i get the pilot bearing out??

none of the shops in town have the right tool

I tried the grease trick didn't work

all I can think of is cut it out with a dremel tool

any thoughts?

You can take a bolt & cut/grind the head off except for about 3/16 so that it looks like a mini golf club...

Work it 'til it slips in behind the p bearing.....then use it like a mini slide hammer/dent puller. Meaning you can put a nut on the bolt threads to attach something to it that will hook to a weight...a couple snaps & it's out..!

I used my slide hammer with the 3 fingers on the end, tightened the slop up and slamed it out. Took several very hard whacks to come out. I wouldn't think the grease trick would work here. Also most clutches come with 2 styles. One is a round piece of metal tube and the other is the actual pilot bearing. Use the real pilot bearing as it doesn't wear out. I've pulled many clutches and the ones with the round tube are always ovaled out or worn and not doing anything but scrape up the pilot tip.
