Check out 4WheelOffRoad.com, they had a series of in-depth tech articles on installing a triangulated 4-link in a truck, like what measurements you should take and mounting locations. IT should still be in their tehc library. Keep us updated on how it works out!!!

What is the purpose of a 4link? I was looking at an article in Petersens 4wheel and OR earlier about 4links. But they never really stated what they purpose of it is. It sure gives a truck a particular nasty look if nothing else.

I noticed something similar looking on a F250 at school the other day but it was coming from about midway down the cab to the front axle area. I don't know if that's the same kind of thing or something else...

the purpose of the 4link is to eliminate axle wrap and to gain better articulation of the suspension. Alot of people install ladder bars on stock suspension in the rear to help w/ axle wrap that is what you probably saw . I dont know of to many 4link suspensions that remain street legal because they tend to alow the vehicle to lay over at speed.

I just checked out Polly Preformance they have a crap load of the brackets and tabs that I will need to complete this swap. You dont know how much work that is going to save me. I started the tear down of my Rig today. I think it is going to be easier to do with the body off the chasis. So the only thing I can still use some advise with is the length of the rear links. I know there is a formula to use but I sure cant find it any where.

Did you check with 4WOR??? I looked at an 84 Bronco last weekend that had a 4-linked Ford 9" rearend, and can prolly get some starting measurements for ya. The set-up was not adjustable, which I think should be added to accomodate different terrain or obstacles. A 4-link will all but elliminate axle wrap, and there are a few different designs epending on your needs. The one I looked at, and the one most common for 4wheeling, is a triangulated design, where the upper 2 links come together on top of the diffeerential housing, and the 2 lower links attach near the wheels. This guy was using Early Bronco coil springs and regular shocks, I would prefer to use coil-over shocks. JSM84
