Who makes the 400. I have a 400 with a 4 barrell holey carb. and an edlebrok intake. it has chrome head covers that say Erson. the oil cap too.
400m or what?

I dont understand what you are looking for....a 400 in a Ford is 99.9% of the time a Ford. Unless some dummy put a Chevy 400 in it.

is the distributor in the front or back...that will give it away for ford/chevy....as for the difference between 351m/400...is it catalyst or non catalyst..thats one way that you may be able to figure it out but anybody can put a non catalyst sticker on a 351m.....really the only way to tell is by pulling the motor apart and measure the rods...being that the only difference betwen the 351m and 400 is pretty much just stroke...so the crank and rods will be different

yes i know that it is a 400 for sure. and the distributor is in the front. aint no ******** put a p.o.s chevy motor in no ford round here. so i guess ford makes it. ok thanx.
i see the fuel filter right on the engine. is there another fuel filter anywhere else. i know the one on my 92 is under the floorboard.
the only one on my 78 seems to be right by carbertor.

they came with 1 from the factory...the 2 barrels had them right on the carb but beings it was changed to a 4 barrel my guess is they put an inline filter in which should be the only one unless they also installed one down by the tank
