400 to 390 swap

the 400 has the big block pattern (same as 460) and the 390 is a big block i think so there shouldnt be a problem doin that.

No, the 390 will not bolt up to your C-6. I have heard that the C-6 used in the 78'-79' Bronco's will only bolt up to the 351/400M, 426 and 429 engines.

ziggy is right! the 390 is a Fe block NOT a big block, you would have to change the tranny to make it fit, not a hard thing to do or find, just pull one out of a 75 or older 4x4
