I have an 84 Full Size with a 302 automatic. I have a 390 just sitting around that I pulled out of a 79 truck. The 390 is in better shape than my original 302 with 214000 miles on it. the 390 only has 120000 original miles. I want to drop it in my bronco but can't find a flywheel for the transmission or motor mounts. Does anyone know where I can find them.

A 390 is an FE motor also known as a "Y" block VS. a "V" Block. I'm not so sure it would even fit with the TTB set up? Sorry it didn't answer your question but I'm sure this would be a custom swap. If you're looking for lots of power swap in a 460. They have a kit for that!

i have a 1983 ford f-150. i had a 302 with a atomatic and i swaped in a 390 out of a 73 f-150 with a atomatic. the swap is possible. you will have to use manifolds or have custom headers made. you can use motermounts out of your 79 truck you will have to add a spacer on your mounts to keep oil pan from hitting or you can modify the crossmember. i found out this is not a common swap. there is more swap kits for the 460 but you will be happier with a stock 390 than a stock 460

Sounds like it would be better to sell the 390 and pick up a good 460 engine....from a parts availability stand point.... B)
