Ok ,I put a 390 in my 78 bronco and this is what I had to do. I have a standard transmisson in it. I had to have the 390 bellhouseing, the clutch rod assembly (from the frame to the motor block)The frame mounts had to have a hole drilled into them to align the motor in. I put in a new clutch ,pilot bearing, pressure plate and throw out bearing.I,m sorry ,but I didn,t even compare them to the 351. I put in a 4 row radiator -to be sure the 390 would not over heat. If you put in 390 GT heads(you should have headers) for they do breath and if the motor is a 390 high performance and you don,t. It will burn up soon. I sold a friend a 390 hi po and he put in stock exhaust and burnt the the motor up. We tried to tell him,but he wouldn,t listen.-so its a easy bolt in, For me to get the correct hole marks on the frame mount-I had to let the motor (with motor mounts on) down onto the frame mount to be able to mark the place for holes. I still have to put on hearder puipes, but those will probably have to be made. I put in a new 78 -4 row radiator and the hose are on the correct sides.I didn't know that. But as far as motor mounts in F-series trucks ( I'm assuming the Bronco to be the same) I have never had an instance where I had to change the cradle. Even from small block to big block. Even in my 79 Buick Regal, I went from a 231 turbo to a 403 and never changed the cradle, just the mount itself. Just for general info all the buick took was swapping the R & L mounts and inverting them. Thing bolted right up. 403 turbo 400 trans and 271 rear gears. That car was FUN, 70 mph @1200 rpm till the Sheriff took it :glare: :glare:

Oh, the engine came out of a 74 Ford king Can and the early 352 motor mount on motors in the late 50,s to early 60,s -to mid sixties( the block pattern are different--if I am not mistaken-they have 2 bolts into the block instead of the later has 3) but they will bolt up-with one less bolt.-I went through that -seems hard to believe ,but it is.Good luckI didn't know that.
