that sounds about right, if its stock. you won't get the big numbers stock unless you have huge cubic inch, or you put time and money into your engine. headers and carb, or injector upgrade will get you into the 300's hp easy

I don't know if I'd say "easy". 300hp from a 351 is certainly achievable but I wouldn't expect to see it without headers, aluminum intake, 4bbl carb, a larger cam, higher compression & spending some time/$$$ on the heads. getting 1hp per cubic inch (or more) takes a *lot* more time, effort & cash than a lot of guys realize. You're not going to do it with bolt-on's. It'll be hard to see those HP numbers without a set of good aftermarket heads, once you upgrade the cam, intake & headers the heads are the real limiting factor, you simply can't move enough air thru the engine to support that kind of power without swapping them.

If you find a set of 1969-1974 351W heads, they're a big improvement over the stock 1985 heads. They used to be cheap, but I'm not sure what they go for these days.

The 1969 351W 4bbl motor made 250+ hp stock. Those early heads have larger ports, no smog, and 1.84" x 1.54" valves, rather than the tiny 1.78" x 1.46" valves on the post-'74 351Ws.

Hey thanks! I might be taking all the smog s**t off my engine so this could be a helpful thing to know :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

This is the sticky on 78-96 Bronco engine HP & Torque specs from telus.net

The Edelbrock Performer or Weiand Stealth intake manifold wou,ld work well with the EDL 1405/1406 600cfm carb in place of the factory set-up. I've not seen any real hard numbers, but feel that should give you 15-20 extra HP.

Thanks to all. I am planing on doing some mod's in the future I will probable start with headers and a exhaust then might get a edelbrock carb, but maby not... im not sure if I want to **** what little gas mileage I have  I don't think I will need much more power than I have...it just was a surprise to me that the engine only had 210 Hp. Oh well still is a bunch of fun!!! :D/ :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Thanks!
