I just came up on some brand new headers for a 5.0 still in the box for a good price. They are not shorties. I was wondering if these would fit my 96 xl w/ 302. Or do they need to be shorties to fit in a bronco?

If it is the XL with the 5 speed trans... you might have a problem...

I don't really know why, i have a 95XL with the 302 / 5 speed combo, i have noticed that the only headers available for that type of combo, has only shorties listed... It must have something to do with the hydraulic clutch line getting in the way, for the longer headers...

Thanks for the input fellas. @Miesk5, The box says ford pu 302w bronco. And if you mean holes for for the O2 censor, when you say "bungs", no they don't have any. @Xxxyank, my Bronco has a automatic four speed. Here are some pics. maybe with these will be better for ya'll to decide if they will fit or not.

did you try to find an application chart for the serial number you have with those headers?

I found them on summit racings website. And when I looked up my Bronco on the application search, this is what came up on this link.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BIG-12502FLT/Application/?query=Model%7cBRONCO%7cDrivetrain%7c4WD

----------------this here below is what I coppied from the summit racing page I found---------------------------------------

Make FORD

Model BRONCO

Beginning Year 1980

Ending Year 1995

Liter 5.0

CID 302

Engine Size 5.0L/302

Engine Family Ford small block Windsor

Engine Swap No

Drivetrain 4WD

Power Steering Yes

Power Brakes (application) Yes

Air Conditioning Yes

Standard Transmission Column Shift No

Standard Transmission Floor Shift No

Automatic Transmission Column Shift Yes

Automatic Transmission Floor Shift No

Footnotes 3 - Must modify stock exhaust to retain catalytic converters.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only thing I found that would make me question them now is, is there a difference beetween the 1995 model and the 1996 model? Seeing as how my Bronco is a 96 and the application chart only says 80-95. What do ya'll think?
