I am in the process of putting EFI on my 69 bronco. Its an 85 302 engine. Today i found (once i put the top piece of the EFI on) that its not going to fit under my hood. Not by a long shot. And i dont think a hood bubble will work cuz i wood have to positian it near the front off centered.(I dont want it to look retarted). Any suggestions on what i can do?

A really wide scoop would work :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Do you have any pics from the front so we can see how far off it is so we can toss out more ideas?

I always make my own scoop...it really isnt that dificult as ling as you can weld a straight bead and have a grinder =-D...

As for your carb comment... that isn't totally true.. You can get a slosh kit (which I have on my 650cfm) that allows you to go up a grade just like efi.. They aren't expensive, and I love the power of a 4bbl.. Imho if you want to keep the hood pretty, get a carb and a slosh kit.

i figured i could do somthing to fix my carb, but i wanted the efi for more power, gas milage, and stabitity(and i already had most of the stuff for the efi). And i only had a 2bbl carb, Does any one know where i can get an 8"-10" cowl bolt-on? i cant find any that big, or a big hood scoop that would fit. I would like to get away from making one. dont have a welder (neighbor does however). Any more ideas on what i can do. Want to go rock crawling one more time before they close the trails cuz of the snow.

Is this a truck EFI? It looks like it from what I can see. I also have to assume that is from a 95 as opposed to an 85. Trucks and vans have a taller intake system than cars. The one Bronco I actually saw in person with the car EFI had a cowl induction hood so I don't know if a stock hood would have enough clearance. I don't know if a car upper intake will work with the truck lower intake. It might be something to look into. The Crown Vic, LTDs and Grand Marq's as well as the Lincolns and Mustangs of that era are plentifull in the boneyards so that may be on option for you.

Yeah its is a truck efi. The upper car intake will not fit with my lower intake, so i would have to get both upper and lower. Then i would have to get the harness as well because the wire lengths would be different and what not. (Dont have much money, need to work with what i got) Need to find a place that has big scoops or cowls.

I have got an 89 crown vic EFI plenum on mine and it fits just fine under the stock hood. No body lift either. For the truck plenum, you need at least a 2" body lift and the scoop. Thats the only way a friend of mine got his to work. The car (i.e. mustang, crown vic, lincoln, merc.) will fit under your hood without any modification as long as you dont put any hi-rise manifold onto it. use the stock EFI intake and it will fit. The clearance is a hair less than it is with a carb & original air cleaner.

The only other option you may have is to lower the engine a little. I would just rip off the truck stuff and put on car stuff. The wiring isn't really all that different and in the end you'll be better off.
