The 4x4 on my 02 explorer xlt does not work. When pushed it says it is engaged with the light coming on, but it does not work. Same thing happens in 4x4 auto, when the rear wheels slip on the snow it says 4x4 auto, which would mean to me that 4x4 is engaged, but all that happens is the rear wheels continue to slip. Anyone have a 4x4 diagram, or any thoughts, could there be a wire or connection that is not connected, car had the transmission replaced a few months back, and this was the first time it has been out in the snow, and 4x4 worked last year. could the shop have to plugged something back in?

I have a 2001 explorer and the same thing happens. but i have heard it takes around 10 feet for your 4x4 to engage. I pulled out of my parking lot this winter and put it into a snow bank not 5 feet out of the lot. when i went to pull out it still wasn't even in 4 wheel drive. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
