I have a 1996 Ford Bronco XLT that the previous owner took off and discarded the complete tire rack (everything). I was told that the 1987 thru 1996 are all interchangeable, is this true? When I look in the book show the latch that is still available is listed for 1992 to 1996. I have a chance to buy one off of a 1990. I do not care if it is the same as the one shipped with truck just that it will funtion properly.

As far as I know.. They are interchangable. If the rack itself goes back to the 80's..there would be no need for a change for the locking peice I would think

If anything buy the one off the 1990. It's what..5 bucks?
