Here is the skinny: I drove the truck all day Monday. It ran like a champ. Tried to start it up tuesday after a major rain storm and nothing. Drivers window was a little cracked, but I have window vents, so only a little water got inside. and onto the floor. I tried to start it and it would not turn over. Very unusual. I turned it off and tried again. Nothing, but this time I smelled a little smoke. I jumped out and looked around. I noticed a little bit of smoke coming from the left kick panel by where the emergency brake release lever is and some from under the floor stripping that goes along the door. It was coming out of where the drivers seatbelt hooks into the floor. I pulled the kick panel and the stripping and it was damp in that trench where the wire bundle goes, but no standing water. I looked for a burnt wire at the forward cannon plug and could not see anything. Then I went to turn it on again. [-o< Once all the startup lights went out, the check engine light stays on, and there is no noise coming from the fuel pump upon turning the key to the on position. Any takers? Any help is appreciated. My motorcycle is tore down right now and my wife has the car....I'm in a bind. Thanks!

Update: I just opened the wire bundle and I checked the wires inside the wire trench and didn't see any burnt or chaffed wires that ran the length of the trench only. This problem is b-( me up.

i'm not positive to the placement on a 93, but isn't his computer housed behind the kick panel he refers to?
