So the old boy has been sitting for 11,12,13 years with a full tank and without any engine activity. I eventually got smart enough to dump a bunch of stabilizer but nothing in the last 4-5 years. Threw my concerns out to several local car buffs and got "just start it and see what happens", "drop the tank and air purge or chemically purge the system. You don't even want know what my Caterpillar buddies recommended. Probably why they get $185/hour. So . . . do I drop the tank (will have to find someone in the Socialist Republic of California to take it) or what?

First thing I would check is to see if the fuel pump runs. Seems like they often get stuck when they sit that long and the tank needs to come down anyway.
As far as old fuel, you can dilute it and blend it back in to use it up. No ideal but a free way to get rid of it.

Thanks for the reply, I am defiantly checking the fuel pump after I get the tank off. Had the original pump quit on me on a two lane, not looking forward to that again.

You might want to run some injector cleaner through it no matter what.
But by blending I mean, Go to gas station put 15 gallons in, add 5 gallons of old gas. Not ideal, but if you have no other way to get rid of it without paying then it would be fine.
Copy that. New fuel dilution. Thank you.
