I have a 1990 F-250 with a 351 and the heavy duty axle setup. I am wondering how much of these components can be fabricated into an early bronco. I know the axles are wider, but I am not sure if they can be made to work or what. Is it possible to throw in the hole setup?

This is a whole different ball of wax....

Without a body lift and some type of scoop or hood bubble, the 5.8l trucks FI intake won't fit under the hood of an EB.

With the F 250 having the TTB front suspension, your best bet would be to shorten the frame of the donor to the EBs wheelbase and swap the whole thing under the body...

It is feasible, but you should check your local and state laws regarding emissions and tire coverage before embarking on this adventure...

I am thinking about going frame up on this, so gettin a body lift and a fiberglass hood wouldnt be a problem. I am selling one of my Broncos and should get about 10 grand out of the deal so I should have some cash to play with plus I would do everything myself so I wouldnt have to worry about labour costs. It seems to me the main issues I would be playing with are in worrying about the width of the axles. They are a few inches longer and the tires would stick out a ways, I am just not sure if it would be too much, nothing some wide **** fender flares couldnt cover though I bet. As for shortening the frame I have not looked into that exactly, the driveshafts would have to be custom of course, suspension on the other hand (as simple and custom as they can be) shouldnt be an issue. Steering is a beast I am not too smart on however, I dont know about that. I got a free 90 f250 though, man I would love for it to mate with my Bronco and make offspring, quite the project. Thanks for the advice.

well I might be able to help.

First your F-250 axle is a dana 44 with dana 60 knuckles on it so the axles are the same size as any other dana 44. plus the 3/4 ton stuff is leaf sprung, so more fab work. what I think you should do is what we (myself and 2 buddies) are doing.

you need to get a 1977 front dana 44, it must be a 1977 because you can cut the c-bushing mounts on the axle and move them in 3 inches on each side. full size is only 6 inches winder. if you do this then you can simply side the axle under the existing suspension components, springs, shocks panhard bar all fits right back on. steering, replace the bronco gear box with the steering box off the F series and then the steering is done using the donar stuff. the radius arms are the same length by the way.

the engine will fit with a body lift and a hood scoop.....tranny and xfer case will fit in the frame and the motor will fit in the frame as well.
