Hi All,

Really great forum you all have here!!!

I have a FULL SIZE 1990 BRONCO V8 4WD EDDIE BAUER w/ an E40D transmission. I am looking for some expertise on the rebuild kit for the transmission & torque converter. What brands do you guys suggest? I see kits labled master & HD and being I am a noobie don’t know which way to go. I do have a capable person installing for me however I need to purchase the kit. I appreciate the feedback as I am ready to order ASAP!!!

As I am not getting much love here I did some research and spoke to a guy @ Ford Racing today, he told me to call http://www.lentechautomatics.com/ and they are woking up a price. Anyone ever heard of them?

I know the old saying you get what you pay for so I am just curious what is the difference between a $400+ kit and say something like these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-E4OD-Transmission-Overhaul-Rebuild-Kit-89-95-/220430971947?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3352b5b42b

Thanks for any comments!

your transmission is the last place you wanna cheap out on, get a good name brand kit, as far as the kind of kit you need to keep in mind of your gonna use your bronco, if its just street daily driving then a basic rebuild kit would do, but if you haul trailers and/ or plan on getting really dirty and playing off road then I would look at the HD kits or whatever that are designed to handle more regular abuse.

Thanks for the reply sir, what brands do you like? This will be used for regular street use, no off road, stock use.

ive used B&M Transmission products in the past and have always worked out well for me. there warranty is good too, I had a converter I bought and I crushed the stator pump putting it in and they sent another one for the cost of shipping. ( some info may have been fudged , I don't know)

they are a little pricey but when I got that build finished it was worth it.
