I have been tracing down an erratic idle problem for a few weeks now and during my trouble sooting I found that if I unplug the spout connector the engine idle smooth's out but once its pluged back in the idle goes wacky, and worsen's when it warms up and during the 2 - 3 shift. Thinking it might be the distributor or the ICM.

Anybody have this problem before?

Sounds like your base timing is off when you unplug that spout conector it takes control of the timing away from the computer at this time you will need a timing light I think I have mine set at around 14 then when you plug the spout connector back in you will see the timing go up when the computer takes control again and the reason it gets worse when it warms up is because the computer looks at the engine temp for timing too . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

The spout connector is right at the distributor it pretty much ammounts to nothing more than a jumper its small rectangle shaped about 1/2 to 3/4 inch long and you should find it right around the distributor base . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Also remember that if your changing the cam dont get to carried away from the stock lobe seperation/lift/centerline / Because chances are that the EEC will freak out and it will run like shit , Comp Cams makes one specifically for a fuel injected 351W its the one I am useing and am very happy with it . Also make sure wether you have a roller or non roller cam as the cam they offer is not for roller . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
