1) you will need a 10 and 8 mm socket and something to catch fuel

2) disconnect the battery

3) remove the bolts holding in the parts

4) discoonect plug on fuel pump

5) disconnect fuel fittins

6) remove fuel fuel pump and fuel res (if replacing res)

7) reverse order for reinstall

relieve fuel pressure

check the connections to the pump. Turned out mine was good, the plug was bad

========

Safety Instructions

Allow vehicle to cool before starting.

Disconnect negative battery terminal before starting.

For current protection, use a maximum 20-amp fuse.

Check or replace oil-pressure safety switch,

Support vehicle on stands, not jacks.

Keep a Class B/C fire extinguisher nearby.

Don't smoke when servicing fuel systems.

Ventilate service area; duct exhaust outside.

Avoid open flames from matches, lighters, and torches in or near the service area.

Use a shielded fluorescent droplight instead of an incandescent bulb; turn off soldering irons.

Clean up fuel spills right away; dispose of fuel-soaked rags and absorbent properly.

Relieve fuel pressure before opening the system. Otherwise, high-pressure fuel spray might cause a fire or other personal injury.

Always replace tank ring seal to prevent leaks.

Never use a finger to check fuel injector pattern or pressure. High-pressure fuel can penetrate unbroken skin, causing illness.

Never energize fuel injector with fuel line connected except when following OE service manual for procedures and precautions.

After working on fuel system, always check for leaks.

yo.

Your 87 has Two electric pumps;

a low pressure boost pump mounted in the fuel tank with fuel gauge sender

94In-Tank Fuel Pump.gif

and

a high pressure pump mounted on the frame below driver's seat.

http://content.chiltonsonline.com/content/images/8492/images/84925003.pdf

The low pressure pump is used to provide pressurized fuel to the inlet of the high pressure pump and helps prevent noise and heating problems. The externally mounted high pressure pump is capable of supplying 15.9 gallons of fuel an hour. System pressure is controlled by a pressure regulator mounted on the engine. The pressure regulator reduces fuel pressure to 39-40 psi under normal operating conditions. At idle or high manifold vacuum condition, fuel pressure is reduced to approximately 30 psi

For the Driveworks Tie Rod End's Adjusting Sleeve:

I was finally able to find a time when my COMCAST "highrest cable speed inthe world" would allow me to go through advanceautoparts.com/webapp/ site to read one BUYER's Comment; here it is:

PAINT IN THREADS; DID NOT THREAD EASILY BOLTS ARE NOT GOOD; STRIP OUT EASILY; BUY NEW ONES BOLTS; SHOULD NOT BE QUALITY SEEING IT LOCKS THE THREADS ONTO THE TIE ROD

I think the person meant to write that it should BE HIGH QUALITY...

Hardware Included: No

Location: Fits Left or Right Side

OE Number: S-ES2079S

Measure or remove the Driveworks TREs

Go back to AA and tell them what the issue is and ask to see the MOOG TREs and measure and compare; then negotiate a return for MOOG - print out the comment above for them so they know that the junk should be pulled from the shelves or Driveworks needs a Quality on-site review.

...

I bought a New 4WABS Module thru local Ford dealer once; they found the last new unit in a NM dealershiop and had it shipped to them - turned out that someone along the chain removed the new one and threw a bad, use unit in the box and re-sealed it.

If I had bought it, I would have been out $456.00; but dealer was able to return it to the selling dealer and was not charged; but he did absorb the shipping costs.
