Hello,

Let me apologise first for the very long post  but I sure could use some help figuring this out. My husband has checked out everything (so he says) and he still can't figure out what the problem. The only thing he hasn't checked is the in-tank fuel pump (to much work). Okay, a few months ago my roommate decided to help himself to the gas in my fuel tank because he needed gas. He siphoned so much gas out that when I took it to fill it up, $30.00 barely got me 1/8 tank (even at today's prices, it should have been more). He didn't just do this to me once, but twice. Immediately after the second time, my truck's RPM started to surge badly whenever I stop at a light. It sometimes die's, and it takes a few minutes before it will start back up again. And when I say surge, we are talking SURGING. The needle for the rpm's goes up and down like it is dancing. My truck will shake and shimmy. I don't know if this is connected, but now my gas guage needle is not reading correctly. Also, I parked my truck for a month or so, now it has no power going up hills what so ever. Old men in loaded semi-s pass me up hills like I am standing still. It almost feels like something is blocked . Also, there has been a few times when I was stopped at a light, and when it was time to move, I couldn't. The gas pedal would be pressed all the way down to the floor, but my truck wasn't going anywhere, then all of a sudden, it would be fine. I sure could use some ideas about what this could be. Again, sorry for the long post.

ya know i have the same problem and i think i have a solution and its pretty cheap its a product called RESTORE its a recyled oil based **** and a bottle of fuel injector cleaner

appy the restore to your oil easy enough and then put the fuel injector clean in your gas tank . .. . mine usually surged between 1g and 1.5g how about yours

wow you are talking about my Truck.. The Dist. was loose which I timed and tightened.. It don't surge until it warms up.. then at Idle which is 750 rpm it will drop to 300 or so and catch back up then a few more time s light changes and it Dies before I can touch the gas.. If I speed up the Rpm then sometime it will go from 1000 to 1500 sitting at the light and still surge..retarding the timing helped a little .. If I mess with the timing it will also start blowing blue smoke.. I'm going to check the intake for leaks tomorrow. the PCV valve and all the wires.
