My 1987 Bronco 2 (stock 2.9) is constantly running in the "hot" zone...so I think I need replace the thermostat on it. I was wondering what temp thermostat to get? My grandpa (who worked at Ford for thirty-some years) said he thinks it needs a 140 temp...but my friend who has done a lot of work on different cars said that I wouldn't want to go below 160. So what should I get?

Thanks!

I have the same truck. Before you go through the expense of changinging up parts, check for low coolant levels/ leaks. If so you may have a head gasket problem.
