I know this might be a stupid question to all

But , my Bronco is not getting gas to the Fuel Pump. My hubby is nervous cause we relpaced the filter and and they also took the hose off of the fuel pump and no gas but hubbby said there is vacum..

we dont have a tester for the fuel pump it self..

So should i just go head and replace it.

My truck does struggle to start and then shots off..

I hope i made since..

Are we talking fuel injected or carburetor here..?

"-----I hope i made since..-----"

Yes you did.... and it appears you're on the right track.

Unless there is some sort of restriction in the fuel lines, your fuel pump is likely the culprit.

Dangerous test but most do it.....remove fuel line at carb. & run a hose from there to a large container.

Disable the coil...or ground the center coil wire securely to the block.

Crank engine....should be a steady pulse of fuel entering the container.

"----So should i just go head and replace it (fuel pump)------"

This would be the safest bet...!

is there gas getting the the carb at all? If you smell gas it could be something else. let us know what else you have tried?

If there is no fuel getting to the pump then it can't pump any to the engine. Have you checked the entire fule line from the tank to the pump for crackec rubber connections? The steel portion may be bad and clogged or the pickup in the tak may be filled with crap.

Good luck,

:)>-
