Hello,

New to the forum and wanted to say thanks for the help I've gotten by just reading posts and answers. However, I've ran across a problem that I hope someone can help me out with.

I have a '77 Ford Ranger (I know, not a Bronco) with a 302 engine that up until today was running decent. I thought I could help it out and make her purr even better by tuning it up, so I replaced plugs, wires, dist. cap and rotor button, and now she won't start. Acts like it wants to, spits slightly through the carb, but just want start.

I checked the plug wires to see if they were out of order and made sure thay everything was ok as far as the firing order; cap and button are on properly (as far as I can tell). I'm just at a loss.

Any thoughts or insights will be much appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Scott

If you had to cut the wires to length, and crimp the ends on yourself, one of the wires could be loose and not sparking. Did you gap the plugs?

Could it be that the dist. cap is a bit taller than the other? I have run into that before when I had a 53 F-100 back in the day.

What firing order did you use? That sounds like you might have made a mistake with the order. Make sure it is 15426378. Did you remove the dist.?
