Hello! This is my first time posting, but there has always been a Ford Bronco in my life. One of my earliest memories is watching the transmission from the 1966 Bronco that my dad was towing being scattered across the highway! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

So this is my delima: my sister gave me a 1967 soft top Bronco that came with a piece of property she had purchased. I worked on it for a couple of years; lifted it a couple of inches, new body mounts, new tires, replaced rusted floors, etc. Then she asked if I would sell it back to her for what I had in it. So for $3,500 she got her Bronco back. Well, not long thereafter her boyfriend was driving it and the transmission came apart. It has been sitting now for 2+ years.

Well my sister is moving and needs to get rid of the Bronco. She offered it to me for $2,000.

What to do, what to do. I Have been wanting a new project, but I was really thinking something military, either a diesel truck or jeep. But this maybe just the ticket, put a 302 with new tranny or keep the inline and find/fix the old one.

Thoughts?

Your right about the trannie and towing.........my dad learned that the hard way! In fact, we still have that EB on a ranch in west Texas. The poor thing is rusting away.....if I decide to go cheap, I might rob the transmission and parts ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I don't know what THEY are doing to the trannies! I have not inspected it, but from what I was told the forward end came loose and hit the pavement.

I have already convinced myself to get it....... @-) No left coast, I live in Gods Country. Texas! :))

Well my memory failed me, she is a 66 not a 67. After inspection, it was the transfer case that let go, not the transmission.
