Okay as some of you know, I'm working on a way to install some off road lights on my Bronco. Here's some things for you guys if ya'll wanna consider this option.

This requires two off road lamps, and an HID kit.

I personally recomend the "Slim Ballast" kit as it's fully sealed ballast/igniter. The "Raptor kit" (have on GF car) is just as good, but I don't think it's fully sealed from the looks of it. Altho the plug connectors are fully weather proof. Plus the Slim Ballasts are much easier to place than the Raptors which are huge.

After researching, I've found the Hella 500FF "Driving" off road lights are best fit for the HID conversion. Here's a reason why HID conversion is a great option per lumens (light out-put; Brightness)

Halogen bulbs produce roughly 30 lumens per watt.

30 x 55w bulb = 1,650 lumens x 2 off road lamps = 3,300 lumens for the pair

HID kit (costs $45-65 shipped to your door) produce roughly 90 lumens per watt

90 x 55w bulb = 4,950 lumens x 2 off road lamps = 9,900 lumens for the pair

So the result:

3,300 lumens Halogen

9,900 lumens HID

Anywho, they sell the hella 500ff at walmart, and I orderd my 4th HID kit from DDMTuning.com with the 55w ballast. I'm hoping to find a mounting solution before my camp trip on the 30th..
