Hi all, just got accepted and have a problem some of you may be able to help. Recently picked up a 96 Eddie Bower unit. One owner, Southern California Bronco sold new in San Diego and I IMG_2061.JPGIMG_2118.JPGfeel I got a pretty good deal. One problem is the latch handle on the spare tire rack. The spare tire rack handle tension spring is just flopping around and not really connected to anything, can anyone take some pics of exactly where the spring is situated and how it's under tension? I'm at a loss of how it works. Thanks in advance. I also did a little collecting over the years at Ford dealers and had picked up all but 1992 of the Bronco showroom brochure's, 93,94,95 and 96, all in excellent condition, not for sale, but what are these worth now? Groovy,
Unfortunate that there's no propaganda on a '91.
Value? 🤷‍♂️
Your guess is as good as mine there.
One of the local gurus in here should have some sort of idea.

Yo Steve,
Welcome to our DIY BIG Bronco community!

Will try to measure corrosion resistant torsion spring diameters, if #3 son returns our 96 today or next month!

Ahh, I see how it works now. I believe the person I bought the 96 from took the handle apart for some reason and left the spring in the shaft but not attached. I lighten up the photo a turned it and can now see the other end of the spring is up inside the handle and that's where the compression is when you push the handle down. Should be an easy fix, Thanks! wm58d4650c1dca4595aec05ada577f7aae.jpeg
