After reading many different opinions, facts, and thoughts about transmissions for my bronco, 302 ( 325 HP) with a Dana 20 I am swapping my NP 435 for an automatic. I am leaning towards a 700R4 for gearing, cost and stand alone ( no electronic control). Who has done this conversion and would you recommend it ?

You are going to be one of the first to do it that I have ever heard of. Let us know how it goes.

Pretty interesting read. Where did you come across that and what gave you that idea?

I like the swap, my story is, the 700 has been great in my full size 92 blazer 4X4 never a problem and it gets wheeled, in my corvette the second gear tore itself up three times, the dealer repaired it everytime after the first time it let loose, but it took two dealers and three trips too get it right? I have heard and read a good aftermarket upgraded 700R4 is a great all around transmission for street and dirt /best of both!!
