I put a 6" rough country lift on my 84 bronco. I can't the the front shock of the dual shock set up connected because the spring is bowed to the front in the middle of the spring. I think that Extended Radius Arms are needed but I am not sure if they will work with the Radius Arm drop bracket that came in the kit or not. What kind should I get? Would the extended radius arms on broncograveyard.com work with the drop brackets I installed in the factory position? If not what kind should I get? Has anyone else had this problem?

yes I got the right kit. the only reason I can think the spring is bowed so much is becasuse The suspension drop and the radius arm bracket drop arent the same. Does anyone know how much longer the extended radius arms are than the factory ones are? I think those will solve the problem but I dont know for sure.

Can you post a pic?

I looked at the Rough country kit again and you should have I-beam drop brackets and radius arm drop brackets, as well as springs and drop pittman arm for the front. Those parts installed properly should simply lift your truck, keeping all the suspension geometry close to the same.

If you have a sway bar, you need to get the drop brackets for that. If you do and it's still connected, that may be the problem.

Make sure it isn't under tension and disconnect it . You may have to remove the springs, and reinstall with the bar disconnected. That should fix the problem.

Remember to get the extended brake lines too.

Let us know what happens.

I got the complete kit. Radius arm drop brackets, Pitman arm, springs, sway bar braket, ect.... It is close but it seems like the top of the radius support arms are tilted forward which is making the front shock not go in because the radius arm braket didn't drop as far as the sadius support arms do with the springs installed. I tried to connect the springs with and without the sway bar connected. I don't know why it isn't working. I'll try and get a picture uploaded asap.

did you try rotating the spring? it looks like there would be more clearance on the other side. but its just a wild guess.

untill you figure this out, just pull the front shocks out. then your back to singles like the rest of us.

Rough Country said the drop brakets are the same for the 4 and 6 inch lift. They 'recommend' that I get extended radius arms.

The springs will only go in one way. So I don't know what to do.

Bummer. I would have thought that if you buy a kit all the pieces come with it to make it work.

Well I know not to trust Rough Country kits now.

Their kits are supposed to do what they are intended to do. Makes ME p***** off.

Maybe if you argue with them enough they will at least give you a good deal on the arms.
