Yo Yeti,
Welcome!
I will post the 91 F150 and the 96 Bronco wiring diagrams for you to see what the differences are. I am using a tablet so I can not view each side by side.

I know that 92-96 have brake shift interlock
I GUESS that the F150 has it too, but the diagrams don'the show it
Brake Shift Interlock Overview in a 96; from 1996 F-150, F-250, F-350 F-Super Duty & Bronco Workshop Manual; "...All vehicles are equipped with a brake shift interlock system. The brake shift interlock system prevents the shifting from PARK (the key is in run) unless the service brake is depressed. The brake shift interlock system consists of a brake shift lock actuator mounted at the base of the steering column. If the key is in run, the brake shift lock actuator continually runs unless the brake is depressed..."
....
Solenoid Pack Connector; "...the connectors were changed starting in 95 for both the mlp senser and the solenoid pack. other than that they are interchangeable. the internals were changed in 95 for the better..." by Paul
...
Solenoid Pack Diode; "...The plugs are different for a reason - there are changes in the solenoid packs, the plugs reflect those changes to make running incompatible parts at least mildly-difficult for most folks. IIRC there are some diodes in the whole mess that in the early transmissions live in the solenoid pack but on the later models they got moved to the PCM, thus making an old-PCM-new-E4OD combo quite troublesome... At least according to someone I know who tried running several older PCMs on a '94 E4OD (that would normally run a newer style PCM) and kept burning them things up one after another... What you're planning on doing tho would be the new-PCM-old-E4OD setup, if my information is correct you will end up with protective diodes in both the trans and the PCM, which should be just fine... Or you can swap solenoid packs between the '96 and the '90 trans, and keep things matching electrically..." by LCAM
....
The shift shaft and shift linkage changed in '92 with the body style change (and steering column change). The 90-91 E4OD had mechanical push rod linkage and then '92 and up has a shift cable. When I swapped in my E4OD to replace my C6 I used a '95 transmission. I had to change the shift shaft on the tranny and I had to fab up linkage (pushrod)... by
The 89-91 E4OD transmissions also have a different shift "arm" than the 92 up ones due to the different steering columns and method used to engage the gears. It is swappable between the two, but is additional work.

In 89-91 the on/off overdrive switch is a seperate button located beside the electronic transfer case buttons if so equipped...
2wd and 4x4 versions, a difference with those might just be the tailhousing and output shaft for attachment to the Tcase.
Lastly, I will look thru my notes to find more info.
