Hello gentlemen. I am rewiring my 82 (cough) f150, and I'm having a hard time wiring my gauge connector. Every diagram that I have found only labels 14 pins. My cluster has 18. I would love if someone could post a pic with colors, and where they connect to. Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Your confused cousin with a truck.

yo Jason,

WELCOME!

As I mentioned below in our PM discussion;

I too can only find the 14 pin diagram...

Please copy & paste your request in the main forum; others may be able to help.

Also, check local library, it may have All Data that uses Ford diagrams.

many local library's offer free on-line access for their members; just log-in w/your library Card # and password

mine has All Data on-line for free but in-library use only; do

I checked Chilton On-Line & Auto Repair Reference Center, but no go as you can see in the Chilton link above.

GL!

If my memory serves me correctly, the 14 pin connector was for a dash without a TAC and the 18 pin was for one with a TAC on the instrument panel.  I probably have those diagrams, but I am not home to access them.  If you can wait till Sunday night, I will look it up.  If not, and you can get a copy of the EVTM (Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual) for your year truck, it should be in there.  It would be the same in any year EVTM from 80 - 86.

Unfortunately, if my memory serves me correctly the wiring harness in a truck with and without a TAC  is different.

I always suggest that at a minimum, that someone who works on their own truck, get a copy of the EVTM for their year truck.  It really simplifies  the circuitry by only covering one function at a time without the clutter of other non related functions criss crossing the page.  Also, a great investment is a complete set of service manuals for the year of truck you own.  The investment use to be around $100.00 to $150.00, but well worth it if you are a serious wrencher.  You can often find them on eBay by searching "1982 Ford Bronco Service Manual" or "1982 Ford Bronco EVTM".  Chilton manuals are OK, but only a readers digest version of the real thing and they leave out a lot of important information.  Their electrical diagrams will give you a rip roaring headache.

The service manuals for each year cover the F150, F250, F350 and Bronco.  If you buy a set, make sure they are for Bronco and not Bronco II.

I decided to do the search for you; Price has come down a lot.

Good luck,

OK, here is the diagram, my memory was incorrect. 14 pin vs 18 pin has to do with instrument panels with and without gauges.  So I'm pretty confident that the wire harness will probably need to be changed OR a bunch of wiring changes be hand made.
